Zenith Award in Education
The Puerto Rico's Chamber of Commerce celebrated in June 2002 its 89th Convention at the Wyndham Conquistador Resort, under the theme "Our Talent... Axis of Our Economic Progress". This year, the organization paid tribute to outstanding citizens in the different sectors of the Puerto Rican society. Dr. Manuel Gómez, Director of the Resource Center for Science and Engineering and Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs of the University of Puerto Rico, was recognized with the Zenith Award in Education, for his lifelong commitment to advancing education and scientific research on the island.
